The Association for Foreign Investment (AFI) is an organisation whose purpose is to provide comprehensive support for investments and investors in the Czech Republic. The AFI was established in 1996 at the instigation of the Czech government (Ministry of Industry and Trade and CzechInvest) as a platform for cooperation between the public and private sectors with the objective of continuously improving the Czech investment environment, the conditions for investors, legislation, communication and exchange of information. Our mission also is to bring new foreign investors to the Czech Republic and to promote the Czech Republic as a country that is ideal for new investments and business.
The AFI is currently composed of nearly fifty companies that support premium investments and have a long history in the area of assisting all types of investors newly entering the Czech market. Our members comprise a selection of the best international and purely Czech companies whose aim is to support investments and investors – from architects, project managers and legal and tax advisors to HR consultants and employment agencies.
Chairman of the Steering Committee
Our aim is to showcase the Czech Republic as a destination in Europe that provides the ideal mix of good return on investment, reasonable costs, strong ideas, potential for future development, superb human capital and an enthusiastic working environment, and as a place where it is fun to live and start a business. All that even in times of major changes and challenges.
As much as I do not aspire to predict the future, I have a few good arguments as to why the Czech Republic will continue to succeed as a safe place for investment for both Czech and international investors. Our well-educated people, institutional and political stability, excellent access to major European markets, safe environment and high quality of living – none of that has disappeared in the COVID-19 pandemic and its aftermath, nor will any of it disappear any time soon. All of these factors will still be here to ensure a stable return on your existing or future investment, which is something that you may not see in many other countries. At the time of expected de-coupling of global supply chains, the Czech Republic ticks all of the boxes as a target for new investment within the EU. For all of these reasons, I remain optimistic about our future and your future with us as well. Our Association for Foreign Investment will be here to help you succeed.
