Koreatsu Aoki, President of Toyota Manufacturing Czech Republic, was the main guest at this year's first Stammtisch meeting. He spoke, among other things, on the hot topic of skilled labor shortages. He sees solutions, for example, in the possibility of loosening quotas on the employment of foreign workers and, in particular, in allowing scheduled overtime (while maintaining the maximum annual limit of 150 hours) by amending the Labour Code.
And of course there was also talk of electromobility. Robert Kiml, Production Vice President, pointed out the need for a long-term vision, including the sustainable disposal of obsolete electric vehicles.
We would also like to thank Mr. Ikuo Shoji, who represented the Japanese Embassy at the event, Mr. Petr Očko from CzechInvest and other guests from AFI members for their participation and involvement in the discussion.
Attention was drawn to the mention of Ms. Anna Brabcova from the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic about the possible increase of quotas for workers from the Philippines and Mongolia. This also raised the issue of education of children of foreign workers and the (un)preparedness of the Czech education system in these matters.
Our association was represented by Kamil Blažek, who gave the opening speech, and Ondřej Votruba, who moderated the event.
