This year's third meeting of the Energy Working Group was held on 9 November 2023.
Representatives of the Czech Battery Cluster, Tomáš Kazda and Jan Vejbor, accepted the invitation to the group and presented the activities of the cluster. The ever-growing cluster now brings together 20 members and brings expertise and support to the battery sector in all its phases - from sourcing raw materials, production through the entire battery life cycle, focusing on education, research and development in the field and cooperation with universities. Mr Kazda and Mr Vejbor highlighted the potential of the Czech Republic in terms of the share of the automotive industry and the minerals needed for battery production and experts. Unfortunately, the Czech Republic is a white island on the otherwise colourful map of Europe with the absence of a gigafactory on its territory.
Martin Buša, Director of the Corporate Segment of T-mobile ČR, presented the activities of the T-Business division, where the company focuses on projects in the energy sector, such as the Smart Metering project for remote energy metering and monitoring, in addition to voice services, networks, data centres, cyber security or Industry 4.0.
The last contribution was offered by Mr. Daniel Petrasek, Business Development Director Sustainability at Thein, who presented the company's activities in the energy sector. These included not only sophisticated IT systems to automate ESG reporting, but also the development of hydrogen technologies for use in rail and road transport.
