On 17 February 2025, the CzechInvest Agency in cooperation with the Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Korea Investment and Trade Promotion Agency (KOTRA) held an investment conference in Seoul aimed at strengthening Czech-Korean cooperation in strategic sectors. The Association for Foreign Investment - AFI also actively presented at the conference.
The event attracted ninety Korean companies and was opened by the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic, Lukáš Vlček, and his Korean counterpart, Minister Duk-geun Ahn. The main themes were investment opportunities in the automotive industry, battery supply chain, semiconductor ecosystem, nanotechnology and information technology. CzechInvest Director General Jan Michal signed two memoranda of cooperation with KOTRA and KCCI, opening up new opportunities for Korean investment in the Czech Republic.
Honorary Chairman of AFI Kamil Blažek introduced AFI as a key partner for foreign investors in the Czech Republic, highlighted the professional services provided by AFI, and introduced the association's members as market leaders in supporting investment projects. Speakers included AFI partner CSOB, AFI members Bilfinger, KPMG and Kinstellar, also CzechInvest and SIRS. Their presentations provided valuable insights into the investment environment in the Czech Republic and support options for Korean investors.
Conference participants appreciated the attractiveness of the Czech Republic as an investment destination and expressed interest in further deepening cooperation. This event confirms the growing importance of Czech-Korean economic relations and opens the door to new investment opportunities.
