Stammtisch with the Minister for Regional Development Petr Kulhánek

Discussion dinner with guest

27. 2. 2025

Restaurant Zátiší

On the last Thursday of February, the first Stammtisch of this year took place in the environment of the V Zátiší restaurant - a traditional meeting that AFI organizes for the management of our members and partners. This time we were honoured with the participation of the Minister for Regional Development Petr Kulhánek as the main guest, whom we would like to thank for his participation and a lot of interesting suggestions and information.

The evening was opened by AFI Executive Director Ondřej Votruba together with AFI Steering Committee Chair Gabriela Hrbáčková, who welcomed the guests and opened the discussion. The Minister then took the floor - he briefly summarised the priorities of the Ministry, the current challenges and the status of the projects that the Ministry of Regional Development is currently dealing with. He emphasised his aim to support regions that, in his words, are in need of investment. And he stressed the importance of an open discussion with business representatives, which this meeting allowed him to do.

Immediately after this inspiring introduction, a lively discussion was sparked, with guests asking the Minister a number of questions throughout the evening, focusing in particular on the following topics:

  • Digitisation of construction management
  • Urban planning
  • Public interest and housing

"I personally welcome activities such as the Stammtisch organised by the Association for Foreign Investment - AFI. I believe that transparent communication of government activities is very important. I am glad for the opportunity to get feedback directly from the market, to answer questions directly from investors and businessmen, to listen to their opinions and views on a number of key issues," commented Minister for Regional Development Petr Kulhánek on the meeting.

The evening was full of substantive discussions that showed that the investment environment and regional development topics require cooperation between the public and private sectors. At the same time, there was a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, which was also evident in the subsequent networking and debates among our guests. We would like to thank all participants for their stimulating questions and Minister Kulhánek for his openness and willingness to listen to the market.

We look forward to continuing this important debate!
