Construction is currently a hot topic and perhaps one of the most often used words in Czech politics. Our association is completely apolitical, but this topic is crucial for investors, which is why we consistently address it at the Association for Foreign Investment - AFI. During this year's third meeting of the internal working group Construction, we shared information and questions about the current situation with its members.

Jan Lehký, an attorney at Kinstellar, who chairs the working group at AFI, took the floor. There was a really lively discussion on the topic. Digitalization is not only related to the Ministry of Regional Development, the Ministry of Transport, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and many others are also crucial. We agreed with the participants that it is not crucial for the market who is responsible for the current state of affairs, but it is important how the digitalization of construction management and the platform itself currently (not) works and above all that it really works for the needs of all stakeholders as soon as possible, from our point of view especially entrepreneurs and investors.

The construction market will only grow if the permitting procedure has clear rules, is predictable and is not burdened by frequent and repeated changes. Therefore, the most important question is what will happen next with the construction process and in what timeframe. What next for construction documents that are prepared in digital form? Where will applicants direct their applications? How should applicants proceed? These are questions that not only the market is waiting for answers to, but also a large part of the public.
