On Thursday, 23 January, the plenary meeting of the Association for Foreign Investment, the AFI's highest body, was held at ManpowerGroup. Four dozen participants from among AFI members and partners, representatives of the Steering Committee, the Supervisory Board, AFI Honorary Members and the Executive Secretariat gathered. The agenda was packed as the Meeting elected new representatives to the Steering Committee and the Supervisory Board after two years, in addition to the regular agenda.
Participants of the meeting were presented with an overview of activities and management in 2024, plans for 2025, activities of working groups and other activities and activities of AFI, the space for speech was also given to the Director General of the CzechInvest Agency Jan Michal, who summarized the development of the number of inquiries from potential foreign investors in the past year. At the end of the meeting, a vote was held on the admission of new AFI members and the election of members of the AFI Steering Committee and Supervisory Board.
AFI Steering Committee
Gabriela Hrbáčková became the new Chair of the AFI Steering Committee, with Klára Sobotková and Blake Wittman as Vice-Chairs. Long-time AFI President Kamil Blažek remains on the Steering Committee and was elected to the position of Honorary President of AFI. Ondrej Votruba also remains as a member of the Steering Committee and in the role of AFI Executive Director. The following will continue to serve on the Steering Committee: Martin Dittrich, Klára Hrubá, Dan Ledvinka, Jan Linhart and Bořivoj Líbal.
AFI Supervisory Board
Luděk Hanáček will continue to be the Chairman of the Supervisory Board, Pavel Klusáček will become the Vice-Chairman and Jakub Lichnovský will continue to serve on the Supervisory Board.
The plenary session also included a vote on the admission of those interested in joining the Association for Foreign Investment. All 3 candidates were accepted, so we can introduce our new members - ČSOB Advisory, Kienbaum und Partner and Vialto Partners Czech Republic. Welcome to AFI!
