On June 11, 2021 in Seoul was held a hybrid investment seminar focused on electromobility, electricity and EV batteries, as a part of a project to support economic diplomacy. The seminar took place within the InterBattery 2021 trade fair and was organized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Seoul, CzechInvest agency and the Association for Foreign Investments - AFI.
Ambassador Gustav Slamečka personally opened the seminar and Minister of Industry and Trade and Minister of Transport Karel Havlíček followed him through the video.
The program consisted of personal and online presentations. Michal Stroka, Director of the CzechInvest's foreign office in Seoul, summarized the investment environment of the Czech Republic. Director of Business Support and Development from Korea Eximbank focused her presentation on financing medium and long-term loans with foreign entities.
AFI member companies took part in the online presentations, connecting online with the participants via Zoom platform. Kinstellar law firm introduced legal services in the field of new technologies, Bilfinger Tebodin presented local conditions and national regulations for individual investment phases in the sector, and KPMG introduced the tax aspects of Korean investments.
Finally, videos from established Korean investors in the Czech Republic Doosan Bobcat, Hyundai Motor and Nexen Tire Europe were screened.
